Job description

We are recruiting an Intermodes Carrier Partnership Manager.

BuyCo is entering a new phase of growth with the development of multimodal transportation capabilities.

To support this ambition, we are looking for someone who combines deep transportation expertise, strong relationship-building skills and enough technical understanding to collaborate effectively on carrier integrations.

You will play a key role in developing and managing BuyCo's Intermodes carrier ecosystem, ensuring high-quality data, strong partnerships and successful expansion into new transportation modes.

You will report directly to Mickaël, Chief Technology & Product Officer (CTPO), and work closely with:

• Marine, Head of Product,

• Géraud, Chief Operation Officer,

• Christophe, Head of Engineering,

but also:

• Product Managers,

• Software Engineers,

• Data & AI teams,

• Customer Onboarding team.

What you will do on a daily basis:

Core tasks:

Carrier partnerships

• Develop new partnerships across multimodal transportation networks, including rail, barge, short sea and trucking operators.

• Build long-term relationships with carrier stakeholders and become BuyCo's main point of contact within the ecosystem.

• Conduct regular operational reviews with Intermodes carriers to proactively surface and resolve integration issues before they impact customers.

• Organize regular business reviews and maintain continuous communication with partners.

Multimodal expansion

• Identify key players within the European multimodal transportation ecosystem.

• Map transportation networks, market opportunities and industry trends.

• Support the launch of BuyCo's inland and multimodal initiatives.

• Understand customers' transportation flows outside BuyCo and identify opportunities to increase adoption of multimodal solutions.

Data quality & integrations

• Ensure the quality, completeness and reliability of Intermodes carrier data.

• Lead carrier integration projects end-to-end; from scoping and prioritization through delivery and stabilization, in close collaboration with the engineering team.

• Build and maintain a comprehensive map of Buyco's carrier integrations, covering all data flows (rates, schedules, bookings, tracking, eCMR…) and identifying coverage gaps, risks and priorities.

• Monitor integration health and data quality, anticipate issues and coordinate corrective actions with carriers and internal teams.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams on API, EDI and data exchange topics, and contribute to building the internal tooling that offers visibility over the Intermodes carrier ecosystem, using BuyCo expertise with sea freight carrier integration.

• Drive the shift toward direct carrier integrations, reducing dependency on third-party providers where technically and economically viable.

• Anticipate data quality issues and coordinate corrective actions with carriers.

Market intelligence & strategic contribution

• Monitor Intermodes carrier market developments and emerging trends.

• Contribute insights that help shape BuyCo's roadmap and partnership strategy.

• Identify opportunities to reduce costs, mitigate risks and improve operational efficiency.

• Negotiate data access and integration conditions with carriers, to unlock data flows at fair cost.

• Help structure and industrialize carrier relationship management as BuyCo scales.

Your path at BuyCo:

We imagine (ideally) a journey like this one:

- 4 months after your arrival: you have understood BuyCo's current sea freight carrier ecosystem and key pain points around data quality, costs and integrations.

You have mapped Intermodes players and multimodal nodes in Europe.

- 8 months after your arrival: you have contributed to the launch of BuyCo's multimodal projects and built a clear roadmap for future carrier integrations .

- 1 year after your arrival: BuyCo has achieved its first inland transportation successes under your watch, carrier relationships are more structured and scalable, and you are helping expand BuyCo's transportation network beyond traditional ocean shipping.

Preferred experience

If you recognize yourself in this, you have a great chance of succeeding in the position:

> You have strong experience in transportation , logistics, freight forwarding or Intermodes carrier management.

> You have hands-on exposure to multimodal transportation projects, ideally in a European context.

> You understand how shipping lines, freight forwarders, inland carriers and logistics ecosystems operate.

> You already have an established network within the transportation industry and know how to build trusted relationships.

> You are comfortable discussing technical integration topics such as APIs, EDI and data exchanges.

> You have strong business acumen and understand how partnerships can drive customer value and company growth.

> You enjoy connecting people, influencing stakeholders and driving collaboration.

> You are curious, proactive and not afraid to challenge the status quo when needed.

> You are fluent in English. French is a strong plus.

Your profile will be if:

> You are comfortable negotiating with carrier technical and commercial stakeholders simultaneously.

> You are able to structure and run carrier business reviews with operational rigor.

> You have managed projects with technical teams, ideally in a logistics or SaaS context.

Compensation, remote policy & legal

• Compensation: between 60k€ and 80k€ gross per year

• Choice of hardware (Lenovo or Mac)

• Participation in purchasing remote items

• Remote policy: full remote possible within CET timezone. It’s a huge plus if you’re Marseille-based, but huge logistic-hubs locations (Germany, Belgium) are also well received.
